Welcome to American Legion Post 171
We are dedicated to serving veterans and the community through mentorship, advocacy, and programs that promote patriotism and honor for those who served.

Our Mission
Community Engagement
The American Legion is the largest U.S. veterans organization. We work together to strengthen the nation through programs, services and advocacy for those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, via youth programs and community.
Community Support Services
Youth Mentorship
We offer mentorship opportunities for youth, fostering leadership, patriotism, and community involvement.
Veteran Support
The American Legion's mission statement, as adopted by the National Executive Committee in October 2020, is:
To enhance the well-being of America's veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. The American Legion's vision statement is "The American Legion: Veterans Strengthening America.”

Honor Guard
The Honor Guard's duty...to perform military funeral honors and special functions honoring veterans with honor, duty and respect while keeping in the traditions of our United States Military.
A military funeral is a burial rite given to all members who served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. All eligible Veterans, upon the family's request, can be honored with a rifle salute, the playing of Taps, a flag folding detail, and words of condolences offered by the Honor Guard Chaplain.
